298 Holiday Farms

Art professionals from across the country gathered for one weekend on a farm in Vermont to discuss our place in this pracitce and profession. During the afternoon, we sat outside under old maple trees to make drawings of the historic homestead. The drawings, collages, sculptures, etc. that were submitted formed the base of the video installation. Many were created with subtle manipulations or focused on one part of the facade. When the homestead was transformed by these personal interpretations the place became an experience of the dissonance and ressonance of our perspectives on place and time. Through the process of this artwork, place was a metaphor for our shared contexts and the installation a picture of our reflective process.
